Well since my trip to Montana was so unexpectedly cancelled and I am now left with 3 extra vacation days, I am looking to maybe make a couple of different weekend trips to make myself feel better about the fact that I’m not hiking in the mountains and sleeping out under the stars this week.

That said, I’m looking for suggestions (or even a buddy to come with) as to what I might do for a weekend here or there through the end of the year.

Thoughts I’ve had so far are possibly Arizona. I still haven’t seen the Grand Canyon and feel that I really must. It’s something I’d like to take a full week sometime and do a rafting/camping trip or some such down the Colorado River, but that won’t be this year. However I think a 3 or 4 day weekend would suffice for being able to see it and spend some time relaxing. Jel might also be taking her family to visit her sister in Southern California which, if they do it, would be great fun to meet them there for a quick Friday – Sunday. Other ideas include Chicago, Denver, or if anyone else has any bright ideas, I’m all ears.
