@Janelle – Haha! Wasn’t trying to imply anyone actually planned the election, but just rather if someone had tried to, they couldn’t have possibly predicted the environment we would be in surrounding it. Just funny how everything seems to be happening all at once!

And you’re right – it’s also funny how, even when we know God is in control, we still use terms like “bad timing” which really doesn’t make much sense. I find it helps to keep giving myself these little spiritual reality checks to keep my perspective!

hmmm…well, I agree that the way to handle the financial crisis is to not rush and sell all the stock; in fact this is the worst time to do it. i’ve heard a lot recently too, and most the experts that I have heard keep trying to reassure people that while this is indeed bad, it is still history repeating itself.

as for the election; funny how you write it like someone woke up and said “hey, let’s plan the election for this year instead of next year, or this month instead of last month”. um, yea, the election has been every 4 years, November, years. I, personally, am happy – ecstatic – that the election is now; nothing could be better for our economy and foreign matters than a new presidential regime and it brings me a sense of peace and hope to realize that the election is next month rather than 1, 2, 3, years away.

i guess it has never crossed my mind, financial wise or politician wise – good timing or bad timing, that god wasn’t in control (which actually means all is good timing).

Ummmmmm. Yeah. And Amen! Really wish we had about six months before the election. And I wish that even then, there was someone I actually thought was worthy of my vote. What a year! And yet, I can stand and say, “I am not worried for tomorrow. Not for what we will eat and not for what we will wear.” (Shanna revised edition) Money is, at the end of the day, just a tool in the hands of God. And thank God, that He is a master builder, a famous artist, and an astounding author. I am curious to see what the outcome of this paticular demolition/construction phase will be.

@Kristin – Yeah, I hear you. I write stuff like this sometimes just to remind myself too! This morning the market dropped 14% before it finally hit the floor for the day (I hope) and started to climb back up. It’s difficult to not get emotional and panicky so reminders of truth help definitely!

Very inspiring words, Deb. It never ceases to amaze me how easily we can fall into the panic trap like the people around us do, all the while having the ONLY hope and stability right at our fingertips. Thanks for the reminder, while I had not forgotten, it certainly ebbs and flows as I hear more about the crumbling world.
