Gosh, what happenned to good, ol' fashioned speed dating. Kids today have too many barriers in the way of face to face meetings! (thank you grandma Shanna.)
Just kidding!

I really don't care what gimmicks/tools/tests and websites they come up with to get people together. There is nothing new under the sun and everything is a tool in the hand of God, who is the beginning and the end. He already knows the plans he has for us. Thoughts of peace and a good end. He promised to give us the deisres of our hearts. That is to say that He will both shape and satisfy those desires. So bring it on. DNA compatibility, signs, online dating, personality tests . . .doesn't matter. He is bigger than all of that.

Very interesting indeed. I wonder what the DNA test measures and why you're "more compatible" with some types versus others. It makes me think of people who actually put stock into what "sign" they are and which signs are compatible which aren't. By these standards, Ian and I are incompatible as far as our signs go...but, that obviously isn't true to life. How much might people miss out on when they are too dependent on scientific matches, or what's written in the stars?

The DNA things reminds me of Gattaca. Very scary indeed. DNA to me is too scientific, what about emotions, values, beliefs, etc.

I have five friends that have met their husband on eharmony, but know other people, including myself, that the experience was less than stellar.

Maybe in the end the only one who really knows is God. We'll meet the right person when we're supposed to however we're supposed to - at a party, the grocery store, through friends, online or on tv, who knows.

A) Eharmony sucks ass, my-thankfully-brief experience with them was that things that are truly important to me are not ranked "that important" by their criteria so it matched me with not one but THREE country-lifestyle-livin' incompatible guys.

B) DNA is interesting, etc, all that but in the end, really, I see it as more a gimmick than anything else. Just like eharmony's personality profile gimmick, etc. Just a new angle for a tired product

C) My best experience have all involved first meeting IRL, usually somewhere social like a party, when I'm "on" and make a good impression. That is what works for me. Those people for whom online dating works best for them, more power to them, they can have it. Like anything else, people and matchmaking is not an exact science and it's best to know what does and does not work for your particular situation.

And that's what I have to say about that!
