Hello!
I've been reading the posts and was so thrilled to see all of the success of The Writer Bee and how willingly she shared her experiences. As one of the co-founders of the 8 Weeks to Wellness program, the real joy of practice comes from watching people evolve into independent, responsible health care consumers. I hope California is treating The Writer Bee well, she a very special person and we miss her at Wellness Solution Centers! By the way, I was interviewed by Ukee Washington today on CBS Talk Philly about the 8WW program.

Hi Chris. Sorry for the delay in responding - I somehow missed your comment when it came in! I'm still doing great! I lost weight on the 8WW program (about 20 lbs) and have actually lost more since. As of now (December 2011) I'm in better shape and health than I was in my 20s. I'm even wearing a size smaller than I did in high school. So I consider it to be a huge success... Of course it takes effort and dedication to stick with it, but that's where my personal responsibility kicks in where the training and initial guidance I got from the program leaves off. :) I also moved to California in July so I have really been completely on my own for the second half of this year and haven't gain back any weight and still feel fantastic.

Hello, I was searching 8 Weeks to Wellness and found this post. Health Goals Chiropractic Center for Life Enhancement in Mount Laurel New Jersey offers the program. The Doctors, personal trainers and nutritionist were trained by the center in Newtown. Dr Baumgardner and Dr. Jarvis are amazing. The office is right off Rt. 73 in Mount Laurel close to Whole Foods in Marlton. The number is 856-983-5422. I have been a patient there for 17 years and just started helping Dr. B out wiht special projects. Looking to start 8WW myself in 2012!

Thanks for posting your comments/experience. Reading the other posts above, I'll be the third person asking about how the program was for you. Specifically, how is your weight today compared to Aug'09? Percent of change is ok if you don't want to share absolute numbers. Thanks & hope you share.

The fee definitely is different for everyone partially based on what the Center you to go decides to charge, and partly based on what insurance will cover. I didn't pay anywhere close to $2,500 because my insurance covered a lot of the cost.

There's definitely also a lot of personal dedication involved in continuing to do great... They are awesome and a WONDERFUL support system, but I still have to take the steps to keep things going myself. I also feel very strongly that in general as a society, we don't prioritize things well all the time...like our health! Since I have made my health a major priority, I budget for it and make sure I get in to workout at least once a week with the trainer, I still see the chiropractor regularly, try to get in for a massage once a month, and then also am very aware of what I'm eating the rest of the time.

Does that help?? Feel free to email me (or post a comment here again) if you'd like more information/details. I really can't say enough positive things about the program and my experience. I'm going to be moving soon and will be so sad to leave these guys behind!

Oh, and I don't know which one you contacted in Philly, but I go to the Newtown one in Bucks County. It's the office where the whole concept started and everyone there is amazing.

I see the last post related to the cost of the program at $2500; is this a standard fee or would fluctuate depending on the center? Also, if you attended the U2 concert at Giants Stadium, my guess is you're up in North Jersey. I'm in South Jersey and think I found a location in Philadelphia but haven't heard back... It sounds like you would classify the cost as an investment??? You started in 8/2009 and as of 5/2011 you're doing great! What does that great entail - healthier eating, regular exercise or basically the gament of the 8 week program? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!!

I was very excited when I heard about the program. The cost is significant. $2500.00. My insurance will only cover $240.00 of the cost. I was still going to start. But when I went in to pick up the "Getting Started" paperwork, there was a schedule (which was not in any of the program information paperwork) which stated the 1st and 8th week does not include any of the services such as trainer, massage, nutritionalist, adjustment. Those services were only during weeks 2-7. Weeks 1 was just getting tested and going over those results and then week 8 was only retesting and review of results. Basically making it a 6 week program instead of 8. The nutrionalist is only on weeks 3,5 and 7. Has the program changed?

Doing great! I've continued with aspects of the program so I workout with their trainers twice a week and get adjusted about once a week. Occasional massages (which are great) and have done a few of the other nutritional classes they offer. I love it there...and honestly I've never found it so easy to stay on track before. I'm going to be moving in the next few months and I'm struggling with what I'm going to do without them. :)

Let me know if you have any other questions!

It was fantastic! I had such great results that I've actually maintained a modified version of it. I've also been getting more educated about nutrition, etc. The program was really a great jump start to a healthier lifestyle.

I just started this program myself and three day into it I can tell a difference. I had my first workout this morning and it kicked my ass but totally worth it. I think the hardest thing for me will be trying to find recipes for this program. I wish you the best of luck!
